That trunk, that trunk.  If you have been following my blogs or websites, you'll have heard about it before, and can expect to hear about it again.   It's a cliché, yes, but that trunk is truly a treasure trove of family history.

The Italians often name their little bambinos for saints or for the saint on whose feast day they were born, but sometimes for a connection to a patron saint of the town in which they live, or a special fondness the parents may have for a particular saint.

Although it was sound and sturdy, it required quite a bit of work to bring it up to date.
One of our very first projects was to remove the worn carpet.  Ten months later, we also decided to remove the Saltillo tile in the sun room and lay porcelain tile throughout the house to give it a seamless flow. The starkness of the dead tree was accentuated by barren landscape and endless skies; and I liked the contrast of colors.

A few of the projects include new contact from our cousins in Italy, obituaries and death notices I have received from the St. Louis Public Library in connection with Ligett &amp; Myer, of our Shaw line, and today I’ve received photos of Cedar Creek cemetery in Texas relative to the Tisdale line.
